Position:
Signature Legal PLLC is seeking an experienced Probate & Estate Planning Paralegal to support a growing estate planning and probate practice. This role is best suited for a self-directed professional who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing files with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with probate matters, trust administration, deed preparation, and estate planning documents. This position may be full-time or part-time depending on the candidate's availability and experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft and prepare probate pleadings, petitions, notices, inventories, accountings, deeds, and related documents Assist with trust administration matters from beginning to completion Prepare and organize estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and deeds Manage and track probate and trust administration deadlines Communicate directly with clients, court personnel, financial institutions, and other professionals Assist with deed preparation, recording, and related property transfer documents Maintain organized client files and produce clear, professional correspondence Support the attorney with probate, trust, and estate planning matters as needed
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 2-5 years of probate, trust administration, estate planning, or related paralegal experience preferred Strong working knowledge of probate court procedures, filings, and timelines Experience preparing probate documents, deeds, inventories, accountings, and fiduciary reports Excellent drafting, proofreading, and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines independently Professional communication skills and sound judgment when interacting with clients Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and general office technology
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Michigan probate court filings and procedures Experience with revocable living trusts, lady bird deeds, and estate planning documents Paralegal certification or legal studies degree appreciated but not required Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently High level of integrity, professionalism, and reliability
Work Environment:
In-person role at Signature Legal PLLC in Troy, Michigan Full-time or part-time schedule available Professional office environment Limited local travel may be required for court filings, recordings, or client-related matters
