Job Description

Talascend is currently seeking a Paralegal for a contract opportunity with our client in Warren, Michigan . Overview Coordinate, schedule, and manage the development of new agreements and those needing renewal with licenses. Ensure deadlines are met to prevent unintended expiration of agreements while interfacing and coordinating with legal staff. Responsibilities Coordinate and manage the development of new agreements and renewals with licensees. Ensure deadlines are met to prevent unintended expiration of agreements. Interface and coordinate agreements with legal staff. Gather and interpret complex data. Handle a variety of non-recurring special assignments. Support development of licensing strategy. Prepare monthly status presentations for leadership. Support project management, including budget management. Maintain frequent contact with others outside the immediate work group and outside the industry. Coordinate and manage delivery of intellectual property to licensees. Support compliance of licensees. Draft, develop, and manage licensing agreements with external partners. Manage new agreements as well as renewals and extensions of existing licenses. Collaborate cross-functionally with legal staff for contract review and approval. Partner with internal stakeholders including program managers and finance teams. Participate in cross-functional meetings to support licensing activities. Perform other tasks as assigned by management. Qualifications Associate's degree in paralegal studies or equivalent training. 2 years of experience. Ability to read, understand, and interpret contracts and agreements. Ability to manage multiple contracts and tasks simultaneously. Above average verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to give presentations. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult. Preferred Qualifications Understanding of intellectual property licensing practices. Understanding of regulatory and legal requirements for service and parts information. Understanding of automotive aftermarket industry association standards. Experience with automotive aftermarket (or similar) licensing. Knowledge of automotive service and parts specific file formats. Shift Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm remote Monday and Friday. We thank all applicants for their interest.
