About Us Reding & Pilney, LLC is an established defense litigation firm located in Lake Elmo, MN. Our firm is dedicated to providing high-quality, aggressive legal representation to our clients across a variety of civil litigation matters. We pride ourselves on our collaborative, detail-oriented work environment and our commitment to professional excellence. Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and proactive Litigation Paralegal to join our team. This role is integral to our litigation practice, supporting attorneys through all phases of the litigation lifecycle—from initial case evaluation and discovery through trial preparation and post-trial proceedings. The ideal candidate is highly organized, possesses strong analytical skills, and thrives in a fast-paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities Case Management:
Maintain, organize, and oversee voluminous physical and electronic case files from inception through resolution.
Discovery Support:
Draft discovery requests and responses; coordinate the collection, review, and production of documents; and manage electronic data discovery (eDiscovery).
Legal Drafting:
Prepare draft pleadings, motions, subpoenas, settlement agreements, and routine correspondence under attorney supervision.
Trial Preparation:
Assemble trial binders, prepare exhibit lists, coordinate witness schedules, and assist attorneys in the courtroom during trials as needed.
Research & Analysis:
Conduct factual research, background checks, and medical record chronologies or medical summaries for personal injury or defense matters.
Scheduling & Filing:
Manage litigation deadlines, maintain the master calendar, and handle electronic filing (e-filing) in Minnesota state and federal courts.
Communication:
Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, insurance adjusters, opposing counsel, experts, and court personnel.
Qualifications Experience:
Experience working as a litigation paralegal preferred (civil defense litigation experience preferred).
Education/Certification:
A certificate in paralegal studies from an ABA-approved program required
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with electronic filing systems (MNCIS/eFile Minnesota and PACER), Microsoft Office Suite, and legal case management or billing software.
Court Knowledge:
Solid understanding of Minnesota Rules of Civil Procedure and local court rules.
Attributes:
High level of organizational skill, strict attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
Communication:
