Chemical Manufacturing - About the Role Our client, a global leader in water, hygiene, infection prevention, and sustainability solutions, is seeking a detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support its corporate legal team. This role provides administrative and operational support to attorneys and legal professionals, helping ensure the efficient delivery of legal services across a complex business environment. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, capable of managing multiple priorities, and committed to maintaining confidentiality while supporting legal and compliance initiatives. Job Description The Legal Assistant will play a key role in supporting attorneys and legal operations by managing documentation, coordinating communications, maintaining records, and assisting with legal processes. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners. Responsibilities Prepare, format, proofread, and file legal documents, including contracts, correspondence, reports, and other legal materials. Manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings, and track deadlines, key dates, and deliverables. Maintain and organize electronic and physical legal files in accordance with company policies and record retention requirements. Assist with routine legal processes, including gathering and organizing documentation for records requests and other legal matters. Draft routine legal correspondence and standard legal documents. Coordinate communications with internal business partners, external counsel, vendors, and other third parties. Handle sensitive and confidential information with the highest level of discretion and professionalism. Support legal department billing activities, including invoice processing and expense submissions. Monitor filing requirements, regulatory deadlines, and applicable compliance obligations. Assist with legal document management systems and e-discovery processes, as applicable. Support attorneys with administrative tasks and special projects to help ensure efficient legal operations. Maintain accurate records and documentation to support business and legal objectives.
Qualifications Required Qualifications:
Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. 2-5 years of experience in a legal assistant, legal administrative, or related support role. Strong knowledge of legal terminology, documentation, and administrative procedures. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and time management abilities with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. High attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation and recordkeeping. Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive information. Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced professional environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or a related field. Experience supporting a corporate legal department or law firm. Experience supporting litigation, compliance, regulatory, or corporate legal functions. Familiarity with legal document management systems and e-discovery tools. Knowledge of legal billing systems and settlement payment processes. Experience working with regulatory documentation and compliance-related records. Ability to anticipate attorney needs and proactively provide administrative and operational support. Strong service-oriented mindset with a collaborative approach to working across teams.
