Job Description

JOB TITLE
Legal Assistant
JOB SUMMARY
The legal assistant with a minimum of 5 years of experience will provide comprehensive administrative and legal support to 3 attorneys (1 in office and 2 remote), ensuring efficient day-to-day operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITITES
Legal Document Preparation:
Draft, revise, and proofread legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and correspondence.
Case Management:
Assist in managing case files, document production, and trial preparation, ensuring all deadlines are met.
Calendar Management:
Maintain and update attorneys' calendars, scheduling appointments, hearings, and court dates.
Filing and Record-Keeping:
Ensure all legal documents and records are organized, filed and maintained in compliance with firm procedures and legal regulations.
Billing and Time Entry:
Assist with timekeeping and invoicing, as well as submitting and tracking expenses related to the case.
Administrative Support:
Handle general office tasks such as answering phones, managing emails, submitting attorney travel reimbursement.
Confidentiality:
Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information.
QUALIFICATIONS
° A minimum of 3 years of experience as a legal assistant. ° Knowledge of legal terminology, processes, and procedures. °Proficiency in legal research, document management, and legal software. °Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills. ° Attention to detail and accuracy in all work. °Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
EDUCATION
A bachelor's degree or paralegal certification may be preferred, but is not always required with sufficient relevant experience.
