Job Description

Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal HFFR Injury Attorneys is a growing Mississippi Gulf Coast plaintiff personal injury law firm representing people and families after car wrecks, trucking collisions, motorcycle crashes, premises liability injuries, wrongful death claims, medical malpractice, and other serious injury matters. We are hiring an experienced Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal to work directly with an attorney on active personal injury litigation files. This is a litigation-focused position for someone who can manage deadlines, draft litigation documents, organize case materials, prepare for depositions and mediation, and help move cases toward resolution. This position is not just clerical. The right person must be organized, dependable, detail-oriented, comfortable with technology, and capable of keeping litigation files moving in a busy plaintiff personal injury practice. Primary Responsibilities Draft complaints, discovery requests, discovery responses, subpoenas, notices, routine motions, and litigation correspondence Assist with litigation demand packages, mediation statements, settlement materials, and case evaluations Prepare deposition notices, deposition binders, exhibit lists, witness materials, and deposition preparation materials Organize pleadings, discovery, medical records, bills, photographs, expert materials, deposition transcripts, and case documents Track court deadlines, discovery deadlines, scheduling-order deadlines, hearings, mediations, and trial settings Maintain litigation task lists, case notes, deadlines, and documents in Clio Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court staff, court reporters, medical providers, experts, mediators, and other offices Help identify missing records, missing bills, discovery issues, lien issues, deadline problems, and case risks Assist with lien resolution, settlement documentation, and closing materials on litigated personal injury files Escalate urgent issues, deadlines, client concerns, and case problems to the attorney promptly Coordinate with attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, and outside vendors to keep litigation files organized and moving This position will coordinate with a legal assistant/case manager who handles criminal-defense administrative tasks and personal injury pre-litigation support. Preferred Experience At least 2 years of plaintiff personal injury experience Civil litigation experience Experience drafting discovery and discovery responses Experience preparing cases for depositions, mediation, and trial Experience with Clio or other case management software Experience organizing medical records and bills Experience assisting with litigation demands or mediation materials Experience with lien resolution, including Medicare, Medicaid, TRICARE, health insurance liens, and medical bill reductions Required Qualities Strong organization and follow-through Excellent written and verbal communication Professional and compassionate client service Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines Attention to detail Reliability and good judgment Comfort using technology and learning new systems Ability to follow checklists and firm procedures Ability to identify urgent issues and escalate them quickly Ability to work independently while also functioning as part of a team Compensation $24.00-$27.00 per hour, depending on experience. (Total historical compensation, including bonuses and benefits, is typically in the range of $65,000 to $72,000 in yearly compensation.) Base pay depends on experience and demonstrated ability. The firm also offers benefits and performance/profit-based bonus opportunities. Total annual compensation may exceed base hourly pay depending on performance, hours, benefits eligibility, and firm bonus results.
