Our law firm is expanding, and we are seeking a dedicated, bilingual (English/Spanish) Legal Assistant or Jr. Paralegal to play a pivotal role in our Immigration and Business/Civil Law practices. We don't just process applications and files; we advocate for our clients and solve complex problems. As a Bilingual Legal Assistant / Paralegal at our firm, you won't just be filing paperwork—you will be an integral part of the case lifecycle. You will work side-by-side with our attorneys to move immigration petitions and business/civil matters from intake through resolution.
Your Key Responsibilities :
Case Management & Support:
Maintain a "big picture" view of case files, ensuring every deadline (USCIS, court, and internal) is met and every document is accounted for.
Bilingual Client Advocacy:
Act as a primary point of contact for clients. Provide empathetic, professional, and clear updates in both English and Spanish while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality.
Drafting Legal Documents:
Confidently draft simple legal, civil, and immigration documents, including standard USCIS forms, basic pleadings, motions, demand letters, contracts, and high-level correspondence.
Operational Excellence:
Manage attorney calendars, coordinate court or immigration filings, file/office organization, and ensure the seamless daily flow of case-related tasks. What You Bring to the
Table :
Experience:
At least 2-3 years of proven experience in a law office environment, with a strong grasp of Immigration law and Business/Civil procedures.
Language Skills:
Fully bilingual in English and Spanish with exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both languages. Passion for
Law:
A true enthusiasm for the legal field and a desire to continuously learn and grow.
Drafting Confidence:
Highly articulate with the ability and confidence to draft clear, accurate, and simple legal & civil documents.
Education:
An Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred (or equivalent professional experience).
Tech Savvy:
Proficiency in MS Office and legal practice management software. You are comfortable navigating modern office technology to maximize efficiency.
