About Us:
Rik Lovett and Associates is a dedicated family law firm committed to helping clients navigate some of the most challenging times of their lives. We handle a range of domestic matters including divorce, property division, custody, child and spousal support, and modifications with compassion, professionalism, and integrity. Our team-oriented environment supports growth, balance, and high-quality client service.
Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a full-time Paralegal with 1-3 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in family law, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, discovery, affidavits, and court forms Assist attorneys with case preparation for hearings, mediation, and trial Maintain organized case files and manage deadlines Communicate with clients to gather information and provide updates • Answer incoming calls in a professional and friendly manner. Take accurate messages and forward them to the appropriate attorney. • Manage voicemail inbox and ensure all messages are addressed promptly. Coordinate with courts, opposing counsel, and other third parties Perform legal research and summarize findings Support billing and timekeeping processes
Qualifications:
1-3 years of experience as a paralegal (family law experience preferred) Paralegal certificate or relevant degree preferred but not necessary. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal practice software (e.g., DropBox, Time Slips, Clio, MyCase, or similar) Strong writing, organizational, and time-management skills Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism Compassionate and confident when dealing with emotionally complex cases
