Job Description

Job Overview We are a busy law firm located in Wilmington, NC, seeking a full-time Legal Assistant to add to our team. Duties Preparing and drafting legal documents such as motions, pleadings, orders, correspondence, and other documents (e.g., equitable distribution listings, affidavits, child support worksheets, etc.) Preparing and filing documents with courts Organizing and archiving the documents related to completed and ongoing cases Prepare and review discovery packages, including answers to interrogatories and requests for production of documents Help with trial preparation including preparation of exhibits and/or trial binders Assisting with copying, scanning, faxing, and emailing Provide support to paralegals, attorneys, and other staff, for the smooth operation of the office Maintains client confidence by keeping client/attorney information confidential Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required 1-2 years work experience in Family Law preferred Knowledge of basic office procedures and equipment (i.e., copier, scanner, telephones, etc.) Research skills Critical thinking skills Stress tolerance Teamwork Ability to work independently, demonstrate personal initiative, exercise sound judgment Have strong analytical abilities, be detail-oriented, and highly organized Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate and follow the instruction effectively from a diverse group of attorneys and staff and provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact Ability to represent the Firm in a favorable and businesslike manner Ability to maintain client confidentiality

Monday-Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Friday 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Pay:
$37,000.00 per year
