Job Description

Kendall, Crawford & Reeker, P.C., L.L.O. is a growing immigration law firm in Grand Island, Nebraska, seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Bilingual Legal Assistant to join our team. Position Summary The Bilingual Legal Assistant will work directly with attorneys and clients to prepare immigration cases from start to finish. This position involves meeting with clients, gathering information and supporting documentation, preparing immigration forms, maintaining organized case files, and assisting attorneys throughout the legal process. Responsibilities Meet with clients to gather information and documentation for immigration cases. Prepare and complete immigration forms and applications under attorney supervision. Assist attorneys in the preparation and management of legal cases. Communicate with clients regarding case updates and document requests. Answer incoming phone calls and direct inquiries appropriately. Schedule appointments for attorneys and legal staff. Draft, proofread, translate, and organize legal correspondence and other documents. Maintain accurate, organized, and confidential client files. Communicate professionally with clients, government agencies, and other legal professionals. Provide general administrative support to attorneys and office staff. Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional education, college coursework, or legal training is preferred but not required and may be considered when determining compensation.
Qualifications Bilingual:
Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing both English and Spanish.
Technology:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and the ability to learn legal case management software.
Communication & Organization:
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while maintaining confidentiality. Experience Previous experience in a law office, immigration services, customer service, or an administrative position is preferred but not required. Training will be provided. Familiarity with immigration forms, legal terminology, or case preparation will be considered when determining compensation.
