Job Description
The Adams County Public Defender's Office is seeking a highly motivated candidate for a Legal Assistant position in a fast-paced team-oriented environment. The Adams County Public Defender's Office is dedicated to providing competent, effective, and ethical legal representation to indigent clients who are unable to afford private counsel in certain cases when life or liberty issues are at stake. Our office primarily represents indigent clients on felony and misdemeanor criminal cases, mental health proceedings, and limited paternity and child support matters. Duties will include answering multi-line phone, filing, mail, document preparation and other duties as assigned. Starting salary is $18.50 per hour, depending on experience. An excellent benefits package is included with this position.
