This position will provide administrative support across multiple practice groups, handling tasks delegated by legal assistants, paralegals, and attorneys. In addition to managing these administrative responsibilities, the role is designed to develop into a Legal Assistant position, with growing responsibility for directly supporting attorneys and contributing to legal work over time. Legal office and/or legal assistant experience although not required is preferred.
Responsibilities:
Greet and assist clients and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner Provide backup support to the office coordinator, with an emphasis on facilities coordination, office operations, and vendor liaison Coordinate meeting logistics for client and internal meetings, including scheduling, conference room setup and breakdown, and meal arrangements Manage incoming and outgoing mail and ensure timely distribution and processing Support case management processes, including closing out matters, organizing files, and coordinating offsite storage Prepare and submit travel reimbursements and expense reports Provide coverage for office during absences or peak workload periods Perform key administrative functions, including conflict checks, opening new matters, and supporting timekeeping processes Carry out additional administrative and support duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Be accurate, detail-oriented, and have strong attention to detail Take initiative and be proactive; anticipate needs; reach out to become more involved Strong writing and verbal communication skills; excellent spelling, punctuation, and grammar skills System proficiency: general knowledge and experience with common software applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite and PDF processing; strong Excel and MS Word skills in particular Motivated to learn and provide work of the highest quality At Drummond Woodsum we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
