m. About the Position We are seeking an experienced, organized, and motivated Estate & Guardianship Litigation Paralegal / Legal Secretary to join our growing Trusts & Estates practice. This position will primarily focus on supporting attorneys in estate litigation, will contests, fiduciary litigation, guardianship matters, and related court proceedings , while also providing assistance with estate administration/probate and estate planning matters as needed. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple deadlines, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team. We are looking for someone who is proactive, self-motivated, and able to take ownership of assigned matters while maintaining excellent communication with attorneys, clients, and staff. Primary ResponsibilitiesEstate & Guardianship Litigation Assist attorneys in all phases of estate, trust, fiduciary, and guardianship litigation. Draft pleadings, motions, certifications, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and correspondence. Prepare court filings and monitor litigation deadlines. Organize and maintain litigation files, exhibits, and case management systems. Coordinate depositions, mediations, hearings, and court appearances. Review and summarize medical records, financial records, and other case-related documents. Communicate with clients, experts, opposing counsel, and court personnel. Estate Administration & Probate Support Assist with probate and estate administration matters from opening through final distribution. Prepare probate documents, inventories, accountings, releases, and related filings. Coordinate asset collection and communication with financial institutions and beneficiaries. Assist with inheritance tax filings and related estate administration tasks. Estate Planning Support Assist with preparation of Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, Advance Directives, and related estate planning documents. Coordinate document execution appointments and maintain estate planning files. Communicate with clients regarding document preparation and follow-up requirements. Qualifications Required 3-5 years of experience as an Estate Litigation Paralegal, Estate Litigation Legal Secretary, Trust & Estates Paralegal, or similar role. Experience supporting estate litigation, fiduciary litigation, guardianship proceedings, or contested probate matters. Strong knowledge of court filing procedures and litigation deadlines. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple matters and competing priorities effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel. Preferred Experience with New Jersey estate and guardianship litigation. Familiarity with probate and estate administration procedures. Experience preparing estate planning documents. Paralegal Certificate or Associate's Degree in Paralegal Studies.
