Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive administrative and research support across a variety of legal practice areas, family law, and more. Your energetic approach and organizational skills will help streamline case management, facilitate effective communication, and ensure the smooth operation of our law office. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your legal expertise while supporting complex legal processes in a fast-paced environment. The salary is negotiable based on experience. Duties Manage legal case files and document review processes utilizing document management systems like Microsoft and MyCase to ensure accuracy and confidentiality. Draft, proofread, and edit legal documents including pleadings, correspondence, and reports with precision and clarity. Conduct client intake and gather information as necessary. Support litigation activities by organizing case materials, preparing discovery documents, and assisting with trial preparation. Maintain detailed records of case activities, data entry tasks, filing documents systematically, and managing deadlines effectively. Provide executive administrative support by scheduling appointments, managing phone etiquette professionally, and coordinating meetings or hearings as needed. Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office, MyCase and JEDS. Experience with legal case management systems like MyCase, JEDS and E-Courts for efficient document handling. Strong writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence that are clear and accurate. Excellent proofreading abilities to ensure error-free documentation. Skilled in transcription services for converting audio recordings into written reports or summaries. Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. Clerical experience including data entry, filing systems management, document review, and administrative support tasks. Effective communication skills with professional phone etiquette to interact confidently with clients and colleagues. $40,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
