Full-Time About the Role We are a fast-paced plaintiff's personal injury law firm seeking a Legal Assistant with New York personal injury experience to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage a high-volume caseload while supporting attorneys and paralegals. About the Role We are a fast-paced plaintiff's personal injury law firm seeking an experienced Legal Assistant with New York personal injury experience to join our team. This role is ideal for a candidate who can take ownership of tasks, work independently, and thrive in a high-volume environment supporting attorneys and paralegals. Responsibilities Request and follow up on medical records Prepare HIPAA authorizations Draft and prepare legal correspondence Scan, upload, and organize daily mail and case documents Assist with case file management and administrative tasks Provide coverage for the primary paralegal as needed Key Qualifications (Experienced Candidates Preferred) 2+ years of plaintiff's personal injury experience in New York (required) Strong working knowledge of No-Fault, lien reduction, and medical record retrieval processes Experience supporting attorneys in pre-litigation and/or litigation matters Familiarity with New York court procedures, NYSCEF e-filing, and deadlines Proficiency in case management software (SmartAdvocate preferred) and Microsoft Office Ability to independently manage case tasks and follow-ups with minimal supervision Proven ability to handle a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced environment Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and authorizations Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including drafting professional correspondence Highly organized with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines and exercise sound judgment Education Associate's degree or higher preferred Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary (commensurate with experience) Medical, dental, and vision insurance Life insurance and short/long-term disability 401(k) with employer contribution Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) Generous paid time off and paid holidays Opportunities for career growth and development Free parking Schedule Monday to Friday Work Environment In-office position Collaborative, team-oriented environment
