Job Description:
Job Summary:
The Paralegal provides legal and administrative support to the General Counsel / Chief Risk Officer by assisting with contract processing, document management, legal operations, and coordination of legal and risk-related matters. This role primarily focuses on high-volume, repeatable tasks and operational execution to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the legal and risk function, while also supporting broader legal and risk initiatives as needed.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Prepare, process, and manage routine legal documents, including NDAs, engagement letters, vendor agreements, and other standard contracts. Coordinate contract workflows, including intake, routing, revisions, execution, and storage. Maintain organized and up‑to‑date contract files and document repositories. Support legal operations initiatives, including digital contract management systems, workflow tools, and process improvements. Maintain and update legal templates, forms, and document libraries at the discretion of the General Counsel / Chief Risk Officer. Assist with the collection, organization, and maintenance of documentation related to regulatory compliance and risk management initiatives. Support internal audits, regulatory responses, and compliance reviews by gathering and organizing requested materials. Track compliance and reporting deadlines as assigned. Serve as the initial point of contact for routine legal intake requests and route matters appropriately. Coordinate with internal teams and outside counsel for document exchange, scheduling, and information requests. Support litigation matters by coordinating document collection, organizing case files, tracking deadlines, and assisting with discovery, filings, and communication with outside counsel and internal stakeholders. Support reporting metrics and status tracking related to legal workload and risk initiatives.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in paralegal studies, legal studies, or a related field preferred. 5+ years of experience in a paralegal or legal support role, preferably in a law firm or in‑house legal department. Experience supporting commercial contracts, legal operations, or risk management functions preferred. Paralegal certification preferred but not required. Experience with commercial contracts and corporate / transactional matters. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, along with experience using and supporting legal technology systems, including contract lifecycle management (CLM) platforms, workflow tools, and document management systems. Demonstrated ability to support legal operations initiatives, including process improvement, workflow optimization, and development of efficient, scalable legal support practices. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish trust, develop productive relationships across all levels, and collaborate effectively with senior management. Ability to exercise sound judgment and communicate decisions and recommendations effectively across all levels of the organization. Ability to resolve problems creatively and effectively, identify underlying issues in complex situations, recognize patterns and trends, develop comprehensive solutions to recurring issues, and apply relevant expertise and experience to diverse legal questions. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to summarize issues and proposed solutions. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accuracy, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
