Under the direction of attorneys, the Litigation Paralegal will be responsible for assisting in matters resulting from financial services issues, including FINRA, SEC and other state regulatory matters. Position responsibilities include:
Serve as the primary and/or lead paralegal on business litigation matters. Assist with fact investigation and evidence development, including document collection, review, analysis, and production. Prepare case summaries, reports, and court or agency filings. Organize and manage deposition, motion, hearing, and trial materials, including exhibits and supporting documents. Coordinate logistics for depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials with attorneys, clients, witnesses, vendors, agencies and courts. Attend meetings, hearings, trials and other proceedings with attorneys, as needed, and utilize trial presentation software. Conduct factual and legal research, including client and witness interviews. Draft correspondence, pleadings, motions, briefs, and other case-related documents. Track deadlines, maintain case calendars, and ensure timely compliance with court rules and applicable regulations. Communicate with clients to gather information and provide case updates while maintaining confidentiality. Create, maintain, and search case databases; manage document organization, chronologies, and production logs. Assist with trial preparation and post-case file management, including records retention and file closure.
Qualified applicants will have:
Associate degree or Paralegal Certificate plus three to five years' litigation experience required. Experience as a financial services paralegal is strongly preferred. Experience with litigation software solutions, including e-discovery platforms and exhibit and trial organization and presentation software. Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, agency and court rules and procedures, practices, etc. Strong written and verbal skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of personnel. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products is a must.
