Employee Benefits & ERISA Paralegal Location:
Pittsburgh, PA About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled Paralegal with a strong background in Employee Benefits and ERISA to support a busy legal team handling complex benefits, insurance, and union‑related matters. This role is ideal for a detail‑oriented professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and has hands‑on experience with benefit plans, compliance, and payouts. Key Responsibilities Support attorneys with ERISA and employee benefits matters , including qualified and non‑qualified retirement plans, health & welfare plans, and executive compensation arrangements Assist with union expense payouts , benefit distributions, and plan administration matters Prepare, review, and organize plan documents, SPDs, amendments, and compliance filings Handle insurance‑related matters , including benefit claims, coverage issues, and coordination with carriers Conduct legal research related to ERISA, benefits compliance, and labor/union issues Track deadlines and ensure compliance with federal regulations (ERISA, DOL, IRS) Maintain organized electronic and physical files Communicate with clients, plan administrators, trustees, and third‑party vendors Assist with audits, due diligence, and internal investigations related to benefit plans Qualifications Paralegal certificate or equivalent legal experience required 3+ years of experience in employee benefits and ERISA Demonstrated experience with union benefit plans and expense payouts Strong knowledge of ERISA regulations and benefits administration Experience handling insurance benefit matters strongly preferred Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal document management systems Why Join Us Competitive compensation and benefits package Stable, well‑established legal environment Opportunity to work on sophisticated and meaningful benefits matters Collaborative team with long‑term growth potential How to Apply Salary commensurate with candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
