Do you love to read? Imagine getting paid to proofread real legal depositions — the same kinds of cases you'd binge on a podcast, right there on your screen. Every transcript tells a story. We need someone who loves the details, catches every mistake, and takes pride in a clean finished product. About the Role This is a highly administrative position supporting a small court reporting business. Your job is to manage transcript production from start to finish — so the court reporter can focus on taking more depositions. You'll be the person who keeps everything on track, on time, and accurate. What You'll Do Manage and produce transcripts using our transcript production software Proofread and edit transcripts for accuracy, formatting, and consistency Enter data to fill out caption, appearance pages and ending pages; putting the full transcript together from start to finish Occasionally research to double check names, companies, addresses, and terminology using online resources and exhibits Communicate with clients and service providers regarding scheduling and deadlines Track multiple deadlines and ensure nothing is ever missed Flag errors and identify any issues before submission Assist with outsourcing projects as needed What We're Looking For Exceptional command of English grammar and punctuation Extremely detail-oriented — you catch mistakes others miss Strong organizational and time management skills Tech-savvy — comfortable learning new software independently Strong written and verbal communication Able to work independently and take initiative without hand-holding Proficiency with CAT transcript editing softwares or tech-savvy and learns new softwares quickly Bonus points for: Experience with transcript production or legal document management software Scoping, proofreading, or court reporting experience Experience with legal documents, especially depositions Operations or project management background Business startup or administrative experience No prior court reporting experience required.
The Details Location:
Hybrid to start (White Plains / Scarsdale, NY area), then fully remote
Hours:
Flexible — we care about results, not clock-watching
Pay:
$1.50 per page + $1,000 guaranteed monthly stipend — estimated $50,000/year based on current volume
