We represent workers in matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour violations, and other employment-related claims, while also assisting clients with a wide range of immigration matters. We pride ourselves on providing personalized attention to both our clients and our team members. Unlike larger firms where staff may receive limited guidance, our employees work closely with the attorneys and receive hands-on mentorship and support. This position offers a unique opportunity to receive direct mentorship from an experienced attorney and gain hands-on exposure to employment and immigration law that is often unavailable in larger firms. We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and bilingual Intake / Legal Assistant to join our team. As the first point of contact for many of our clients, you will play a critical role in creating a positive client experience from the very first interaction. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys helping people, communicates well, stays organized under pressure, and is eager to build a career in the legal field. No prior legal experience is required. The successful candidate will work under the close supervision of an attorney, who will provide comprehensive training, ongoing mentorship, and the attention needed to help you develop the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in the role.
Key Responsibilities:
Answer incoming calls and respond to inquiries from potential and current clients. Conduct intake interviews and gather detailed information about potential cases. Evaluate prospective clients using firm guidelines and attorney direction. Schedule consultations and maintain attorney calendars. Open new client files and organize case documents. Maintain accurate client records in the firm's case management system. Request, organize, and upload documents received from clients. Assist attorneys with administrative and case-related tasks. Prepare and send correspondence, forms, and engagement documents. Follow up with prospective and current clients regarding outstanding information. File and serve legal documents (training provided). Provide professional, compassionate, and responsive customer service at all times. Embrace and learn new software tools and legal technologies.
