Law Firm of Eric Arthur Sokol, P.C. 1105 Melody Court, Kearney, MO 64060 Hybrid work $22.50 - $25.00 an hour - Full-time $22.50 - $25.00 an hour - Full-time Solo law practice with emphasis on family law, bankruptcy, and criminal defense seeking legal assistant starting 30 hours per week with potential for 40. Tasks include clerical work, basic legal drafting, evidence review, client evidence and updates contact, summarization, and intake. Starting with few hours at law firm with remainder of each day remote, working towards fully remote, however file and document management may continue to require a few hours per week at office. Proficient typing, MS Word, and MS Outlook experience important (but I can teach detailed things) and basic Excel helpful. Experience with MyCase, Best Case Bankruptcy, Case.net e-filing, Our Family Wizard, or scanners/printers a plus. Practicing out of home in Kearney since 2022. Ready to hand the paralegal reigns and knowhow on, due to being blessedly busy to continue wearing both hats (and also have a homelif)e. Organized file system in-place, not walking into/inheriting chaos, know what I want and have extensive teaching experience, including newer paralegals than me while working for firms in Springfield before law school.

Base rate:

$22.50 per hour for three month intro period, then $25.00 per hour. Those numbers could potentially go up with the right previous experience and verifiable references. No health or retirement benefits for at least two years, but paid time off and sick leave accrual begins after three months.
