PURPOSEThe purpose of this position is to provide complex administrative and litigation support to Sr. Legal Counsel and the Collection and Subrogation Paralegals.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
Receive and reviews subpoenas and request for information, determines validity and compliance with HIPAA, gathers, identifies, prepares, and copies information in response to subpoenas, requests for informationReceive and reviews proof of claim forms for class action litigation, tracks case, gathers, prepares, and copies information in responseProvides daily support including preparing letters, reviewing files, updating database and tracking due dates for subrogation cases. Serves as back up for subrogation paralegalMonitors and tracks claims paid for work related injuries, requests overpayments and provides lien amounts to attorneysPrepares and assembles memos, agendas, information, and reports for certain Board of Trustee meetingsReviews and edits documents for consistency, completeness, and accuracyPrepares documents and correspondence requiring knowledge of legal terminology and document formats, such as correspondence, memos,Coordinates, assembles, and maintains Legal department records and documents in appropriate files, including litigation, collection, subrogation, and subpoena filesAssists in preparation of reports, logs, dockets, and other documents including data entry, copying, collatingPulls, files, scans, copies, faxes, mails, or otherwise disburse documents and /maintain associated logging systemResearch state government sites for company unclaimed property, fill out forms and provide necessary documentation and informationAnswers telephones, takes messages, and provides support for paralegals and attorneys who are out of the officeCreates and updates dockets and spreadsheets of dataSets goals and achieve measurable resultsContributes ideas to plans and achieving department goalsExemplifies the Funds BETTER Values and Professional Effectiveness Dimensions in contributing to a respectful, trusting, and engaged culture of diversity and inclusionPerforms other duties as assigned within the scope of responsibilities and requirements of the jobPerforms Essential Job Functions and Duties with or without reasonable accommodation
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Years of Experience and Knowledge 5 ~ 7 years of related experience minimum (law firm or corporate legal department preferred)Working knowledge and experience in routine administrative functionsExperience with Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), HIPAA, Employee Benefits and Health Care experience preferredEducation, Licenses, and CertificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDSkills and AbilitiesIntermediate level Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)Intermediate level Microsoft Excel skillsExperience with Microsoft Planner a plusIntermediate level AdobeBeginner level system(s) skills in LexisNexis preferredDetail oriented and multi-tasking skillsOrganizational, analytical and follow-up skillsAbility to work independently, establish priorities and adhere to deadlinesInterpersonal and team skillsCommunication skills (written and verbal)Ability to type 35 wpm

Salary range for this position: Salary $50,100 ~ $61,300. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to: relevant experience, qualifications, expertise, certifications, licenses, education or equivalent work experience, time in role, peer and market data, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.

Work Schedule (may vary to meet business needs): Monday ~ Friday, 7.5 hours per day (37.5 hours per week) with potential for hybrid work-from-home arrangement.
