They will also assist the attorneys by investigating facts, preparing legal documents, or researching legal precedent. Our goal is to identify and employ productive, competent, and highly motivated individuals who display integrity and attention to detail. Responsibilities Prepares affidavits or other documents, such as legal correspondence, and organizes and maintains documents in paper or electronic filing system. Prepares for trial by performing tasks such as organizing exhibits. Prepares legal documents, including briefs, pleadings and appeals. Creates and manages Microsoft Forms templates used by attorneys and other staff. Corresponds with opposing counsel and other professionals, typically via phone or email, to obtain details of case. Files pleadings with court clerk. Gathers and analyzes research data, such as statutes, decisions, and legal articles, codes, and documents. Contacts witnesses to testify at hearing. Investigates facts and law of cases and search pertinent sources, such as public records, to determine causes of action and to prepare cases. Additional tasks as assigned. Qualifications Legal Assistant/Paralegal Certificate or Associates Degree in legal/paralegal studies, or the equivalent experience is preferred. Work experience in a law firm handling insurance-related matters, and subrogation experience a plus; 2+ years of work experience in a litigation law firm preferred. Solid administrative skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook; must have advanced skills in Microsoft Word. Working knowledge of local and district court rules as well as government websites. Ability to take initiative and work independently for multiple supervisors. Good interpersonal, organizational, communications and problem-solving skills. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of the firm's internal affairs and client information. Ability to work quickly, but with attention to detail and with minimal errors.
Pay:
$20.00 - $22.00 per hour
