Ideal candidates may be recent college graduates or professionals with experience working in a litigation practice. Responsibilities will increase depending on experience. You will work under the supervision of an attorney to manage his caseload. The goal is to sustain efficiency of workflow in all office procedures and case management, to guarantee reliability, consistency and excellent service to our clients. Practice areas include employment law, general civil practice, and criminal defense. Some travel may be required.
Responsibilities:
Provide administrative support to manage attorney's caseload and calendar. Keep attorney updated as to status of cases and upcoming deadlines. Facilitate the meeting of deadlines by keeping multiple agendas and provide timely reminders. Effectively communicate with clients, colleagues, and attorneys. Gather, organize, and summarize documents and information related to both litigation and non-litigation matters. Composing routine letters and documents. Filing legal documents with the proper courts. Maintain electronic and paper client files. Must maintain confidentiality and ethical obligations of the attorney in accordance with Michigan Rule of Professional Conduct 5.3. Performing other duties as requested or assigned Skills Must be a highly organized individual, with attention to detail and time management skills. Able to exercise reasonable judgment and be self-motivated. Ability to multitask and respond quickly to time-sensitive issues. Must possess strong grammar and writing skills. Knowledge of MS Office and ability to work with other legal technology such as Adobe, OnCue, and client management systems.
