In this role, you will provide essential administrative and research support across a variety of legal practice areas, including estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, and more. Your energetic approach and organizational skills will help streamline case management, facilitate legal research, and ensure the smooth operation of our legal processes. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your legal expertise while supporting complex litigation and transactional work. Duties Assist attorneys with legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal databases to gather relevant case law, statutes, and regulations. Prepare and review legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, and discovery materials with accuracy and attention to detail. Manage case files using document management systems like iManage and PCLaw, ensuring all records are current and properly organized. Conduct thorough document review and proofreading to ensure compliance with procedural law requirements and client specifications. Support project management initiatives by coordinating deadlines, scheduling meetings, and tracking case progress across multiple practice areas including litigation, immigration law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, and workers' compensation law. Perform data entry tasks related to client information, case details, and court filings while maintaining high levels of accuracy. Provide executive administrative support by managing phone etiquette, organizing files, handling correspondence, and performing clerical duties such as filing and transcription. Conduct interviews with clients or witnesses when necessary to gather pertinent information for cases involving personal injury law or family law matters. Assist in preparing for court appearances or client meetings through document review and procedural law research. Qualifications Proven experience as a paralegal or legal assistant with familiarity in general & commercial litigation or specialized areas such as estate planning or environmental law. Strong knowledge of procedural law principles along with experience in legal research using Westlaw or LexisNexis. Proficiency in legal case management software including iManage and PCLaw; familiarity with document review systems is a plus. Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents, proofreading materials, and transcribing recordings accurately. Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases efficiently while meeting deadlines. Experience supporting attorneys in diverse practice areas such as landlord-tenant law, securities law, tribal regulations or patent law is highly desirable. Exceptional communication skills with professional phone etiquette for liaising with clients, courts, or external agencies. Strong research capabilities combined with attention to detail in handling complex legal issues across various jurisdictions. Administrative experience including filing systems, data entry accuracy, clerical tasks, and document management systems operation is essential.
