Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized administrative assistant to join our busy civil law practice in Salem, MA. This part-time, on-site role involves providing critical administrative and legal support, including document preparation, case management, and client communication. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of legal procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents (pleadings, motions, briefs, etc.) Conduct legal research and gather case-related information Organize and maintain case files and documents Schedule appointments, meetings, and court hearings Answer phone calls, take messages, and interact with clients professionally Interview clients and witnesses to gather case details Transcribe dictations and prepare accurate written documents File documents with courts and relevant agencies Assist with legal case management using software Proofread and draft legal documents
Qualifications:
Experience in legal document preparation and knowledge of legal procedures Strong administrative and organizational skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines Familiarity with legal terminology and research methods Self-motivated with the ability to work independently High attention to detail and accuracy Why Apply?
