We represent employees in discrimination, retaliation, harassment, disability accommodation, wage, and other workplace-related matters. We are looking for an experienced litigation legal assistant or paralegal who can step into real litigation support work. This is not an entry-level role. The right person will have prior experience supporting attorneys in active litigation and will be comfortable managing documents, deadlines, discovery, court filings, and client communications. Position This position may be part-time or full-time depending on the candidate's experience and availability. Remote work is available for the right candidate, but the candidate must be highly organized, responsive, and able to work independently.
Key Responsibilities Responsibilities may include:
Drafting clear summaries of case facts and key issues; Tracking statutes of limitations and litigation deadlines; Organizing documents and evidence for attorney review; Preparing and managing discovery materials, including requests for production, interrogatories, requests for admission, and document production; Reviewing client documents and identifying relevant evidence; Assisting with deposition preparation; Preparing exhibits and document binders; Filing documents with Oregon state courts and federal court; Maintaining case files and ensuring documents are properly saved, labeled, and organized; Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, court staff, and third parties in a professional manner; Following written instructions carefully and asking specific, thoughtful questions when clarification is needed; Helping keep cases moving without constant attorney follow-up. Required Qualifications The ideal candidate will have: Prior experience as a litigation legal assistant, litigation paralegal, or similar role; Experience with civil litigation; Experience working with discovery requests and document production; Strong organizational skills; Strong writing skills; Careful attention to detail; Ability to track deadlines and follow up without being prompted repeatedly; Ability to follow written instructions the first time; Good judgment about when to ask questions; Comfort working independently in a fast-paced legal environment; Experience with Oregon state court filings; Experience with federal court filings; Professional communication skills with clients and attorneys. Preferred Qualifications Preferred, but not required: Experience with plaintiff-side employment law; Experience with MyCase, Dropbox, Google Workspace, Slack, or similar tools; Experience preparing litigation timelines, witness lists, exhibit lists, or discovery summaries; Experience reviewing employment records, personnel files, medical records, wage records, or HR documents. Compensation Compensation depends on experience and demonstrated skill level. The expected range is $30-$50 per hour , depending on experience.
