Civil & Criminal Litigation Legal Assistant/Paralegal Are you an organized and detail-oriented professional with a passion for writing and legal advocacy? The León Firm is seeking a talented Legal Assistant for civil and criminal litigation, who excels at drafting, scheduling, and supporting case management. This role is designed for someone who wants to begin their journey as a legal assistant and grow into a paralegal, with a clear path for promotion and professional development. You'll play a vital role in our firm's growth, working closely with attorneys and enjoying opportunities to expand your responsibilities and advance your career in the long term. Key Responsibilities Support civil and criminal litigation cases from intake to resolution, assisting attorneys and clients at every stage Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery requests in federal and state courts with clarity and precision Conduct legal research and summarize findings for attorney review Organize and maintain detailed case files, manage discovery, and oversee document production Handle scheduling of hearings, depositions, and meetings; communicate with clients, experts, and court staff Track deadlines, court dates, and deliverables to ensure timely progress Provide administrative and organizational support, including calendar management, correspondence, and file organization Preferred Qualifications 1+ years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal, preferably in civil or criminal litigation Exceptional writing, organizational, and communication skills Proficiency with legal technology tools and court filing systems (Clio experience a plus) Eager to take initiative, adapt to new challenges, and contribute to a growing firm Able to travel occasionally to courts across eastern Pennsylvania Bi-lingual (Spanish) preferred Why Join Our Firm?
