Job Description

About Us:
Haaf Law, LLC is a solo-practitioner firm providing personalized legal services in civil litigation, family law, estate planning, property law, and criminal defense. Our team values a supportive and professional work environment where each member is appreciated and contributes to our success.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented, self-motivated Legal Assistant or Paralegal to become a valuable member of our Sheridan based team. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, background in civil litigation and the ability to independently manage workflow while working collaboratively with supervising attorney(s).
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive administrative support to the managing attorney. Serve as a liaison between clients and the attorney, ensuring timely and effective communication. Prepare, draft, and proofread legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, motions, and correspondence. Manage court filings, both electronically and in person, ensuring compliance with court rules and deadlines, including calendaring. Assist with billing, invoicing, and other administrative management tasks. Manage case information, including organizing evidence, exhibits, case files, and discovery. Maintain confidentiality of all firm matters and sensitive case information.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Paralegal certificate and/or prior law firm experience is highly desirable. Relevant professional administrative experience may also be considered for strong candidates with clear growth potential. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe/FoxIt PDF, and other similar software. Must be able to read, comprehend, and follow written and verbal instructions. Available to work overtime as needed and approved by managing attorney. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Acute attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Proficiency in legal document management, court filing procedures and related matters. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with staff and attorneys. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and PDF software. Experience with Clio Manage and Clio Grow a plus. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Valid driver's license. Must have reliable transportation for routine responsibilities, including handling various local off-site tasks and errands. Available to travel for trial support as needed. Pay:
$20.00 - $30.00 per hour
