Job Description
Litigation Legal Assistant Hybrid Must have at least 3 years of litigation experience, mandatory Sometimes, the case runs the room. Sometimes, you do. Our client, a high-performing employment litigation defense firm in Glendale, is looking for a Litigation Legal Assistant who knows how to keep complex cases from turning into chaos—and maybe even enjoys it a little. This isn't a "sit back and wait for instructions" role. It's a run-the-show (politely, of course) position.
Think:
quarterback, air traffic controller, and Excel whisperer—all rolled into one. What makes this role interesting? You'll be the bottom-line case manager across multiple, high-stakes matters—each with its own cast of characters, deadlines, and plot twists. The attorneys? Smart, driven, and occasionally in need of a well-timed nudge. (Nicely persistent wins the day.) What you'll actually be doing (aka where you shine): Turning mountains of case documents into clear, organized, usable intelligence Building Excel spreadsheets that actually do something (sorting, filtering, pivot tables, formulas—you get it) Drafting case updates and summaries that make attorneys look very, very prepared Owning calendars and deadlines like they owe you money Handling e-filings across state, federal, and administrative agencies (NLRB, PERB, EDD, Wage Commissioner—you've seen the alphabet soup before) Researching court rules and judge preferences so nothing gets bounced back Managing calls, scheduling, and logistics without breaking stride Drafting, editing, redlining (Litera), Bates stamping— the full toolkit Preparing trial materials, exhibits, and hearing binders that actually make sense Keeping case files tight, organized, and audit-proof The kind of person who thrives here: Calm under pressure, even when everything is "urgent" Detail-obsessed (in a good way) Not afraid to follow up with attorneys—gracefully but firmly Fluent in Excel, litigation workflow, and common sense Spanish speaking is preferred The payoff: Work that actually matters —these are real cases with real impact A team that values someone who can own the details and drive the process A role where being organized, proactive, and just a little relentless is a competitive advantage If you've ever thought, "If I were running this case, it would go a lot smoother"—this might be your moment. Worth a conversation.
