Professional Development Assistance Essential Job Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will have experience working as an Insurance Defense paralegal, with a focus in Construction Defect and Complex Litigation. This position would support a small number of attorneys and report directly to one of the Partners. As a Paralegal at GLB, you will be responsible for the management of a large case load of cases from start to trial, as well as manage discovery, review, and analyze documents, create, and maintain databases, draft legal documents, and conduct various document searches and factual research.

Experience:

• Strong communication skills.
• Experience with Insurance Defense and insurance tender process.
• Experience with legal billing and monthly/yearly hourly expectations.
• Experience in all phases of the litigation process.
• Ability to effectively set priorities, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects for several attorneys.
• Ability to search database programs and assist with organizing, summarizing and/or categorizing.
• Able to work independently with minimum direction and good organizational skills needed to manage a medium to large caseload.
• Ability to take a proactive role in prioritizing and completing tasks with limited supervision.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
• Adaptable to changing priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with all levels of firm personnel, clients, counsel, and vendors.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues and create solutions.
• Proficient in Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Outlook), PACER, Lexis Nexis and eDiscovery software (NextPoint).
• Familiarity with Clio Manage a plus.
• Minimum 5 years' experience as a litigation paralegal (insurance defense experience a must).
