Provide administrative and technical support to the Intellectual Property (IP) Department, supporting U.S. and global patent and trademark activities.Essential Functions:
Independent processing of all tasks arising in a corporate patent department in connection with property rights in the United States and abroad, in particular, knowledge of country laws in the field of patents and trademarks Independent communication with inventors and decision-makers worldwide Correspondence with patent and trademark offices as well as IP law firms in the United States and abroad Processing formal legal procedures at patent and trademark offices in the United States and abroad Processing invention disclosures and coordinating patent committee meetings Independent docketing and monitoring of deadlines Responsibility for the independent management and maintenance of digital patent and trademark files using a global IP management system Assist in monitoring the IP Department budget Carrying out queries and brief searches in online databases and with the help of in-house search tools Evaluation of internal databases to create listings and reports as well as PowerPoint presentations; general support for IP counsel Assist managing the patent recognition process General administrative tasks to support departmentKnowledge:
Knowledge of all Microsoft Office products Proficient in working with and managing databases, preferably IP Databases Working understanding of USPTO and PCT documents and formal requirements for patent prosecution Knowledge of SAP and/or Ariba a plusExperience:
1-3 years of IP experience required Professional experience in a corporate patent department or in a comparable position patent law firm environmentSkills:

The demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in Avon is $56,900-$85,300 per year. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry and education. Knorr Bremse Holding Corporation is a multi-state employer, and this pay scale may not reflect positions that work in other states or locations. Provided they meet all eligibility requirements under the applicable plan documents, employees (and their eligible dependents) will be eligible to enroll in group healthcare plans that offer medical, dental, vision, and basic life and disability insurance. Employees also will be able to enroll in our company's 401k plan. Employees will also receive 120 hours of vacation leave and 40 hours of Personal Paid Absence every year. Employees will also enjoy 12 paid holidays, and 1 floating holiday throughout the calendar year, subject to relevant terms outlined in the employee handbook. 6 weeks of paid parental leave will also be available for use. Requirements for these benefits will be controlled by applicable plan documents and policies. Employees working on federal contracts covered by the Federal Paid Sick Leave requirements will be notified and will receive benefits consistent and compliant with the FPSL requirements. Hired applicant will be able to purchase company stock, subject to the relevant plan documents and annual bonuses based on achievement of certain metrics of up to 4% of annual salary.
