SHIFT:
Monday - Friday, standard business hours We are seeking a detail-oriented Paralegal I / II to support legal, regulatory, and compliance operations within a highly regulated environment. This role will assist with the preparation, processing, updating, and filing of legal documents, tariff-related materials, and regulatory agreements while supporting attorneys across a variety of legal and compliance matters.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist attorneys with the preparation, review, and filing of legal documents and regulatory submissions. Organize and maintain legal case files, exhibits, agreements, and supporting documentation. Manage document service, postings, and filing activities related to legal and regulatory matters. Provide support for litigation, regulatory proceedings, stakeholder processes, and compliance activities at both state and federal levels. Monitor regulatory hearings, technical conferences, and proceedings, preparing summaries and related materials as needed. Assist with regulatory filings by organizing governing agreements, tariff documents, and supporting filing materials. Prepare and maintain internal and external reports related to filings, regulatory matters, and legal status updates. Conduct legal and factual research and prepare summaries, reports, and memoranda. Support eDiscovery activities, investigations, and compliance-related matters. Review agreements for conformity with established standards and assist with preparation of related regulatory filings when needed. Maintain legal proceeding records and support ongoing management of regulatory matters. Assist with preparation of committee materials, compliance documentation, and meeting-related deliverables. Attend meetings, hearings, and proceedings in support of legal counsel as requested. Support administration of filing systems and contract management platforms. Manage multiple concurrent priorities while ensuring accuracy, organization, and timely completion of assignments. Proofread filings, organize exhibits, and assist with preparation of motion and regulatory filing packages. Manage service agreements, including tracking effective dates, renewals, and regulatory compliance requirements. Prepare summaries and informational materials related to legal filings, regulations, and policy updates. Support tariff maintenance activities, including administration of eTariff systems, tracking deadlines, and updating filing records. Assist with preparation of tariff filing packages, including transmittal letters, redline documents, and supporting materials. Monitor regulatory websites and docket activity for filings, comments, orders, and related updates. Draft and distribute meeting minutes and maintain docket tracking systems and reports. Develop and maintain document management procedures, calendars, schedules, and reporting tools.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required 2-5 years of relevant paralegal experience within a corporate legal department, governmental agency, public utility, or other regulatory/compliance-driven environment Paralegal certificate or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies or related field, or Associate's degree with at least 5 years of corporate paralegal experience Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment Strong technical proficiency, including experience with electronic filing systems and legal technology tools Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality, accurate work products Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Preferred Understanding of utility operations, markets, or planning functions Familiarity with regulatory filings and tariff administration processes Experience with eTariff systems and FERC-related filings Experience supporting state public utility commission matters Familiarity with contract management and knowledge management systems Experience working within energy, utility, or regulated electric industry environments
