Job Description
Sobo & Sobo is seeking an Experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our Middletown, NY office. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong personal injury litigation experience who is passionate about advocating for injury victims and supporting attorneys through all phases of litigation. Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive litigation support to attorneys from case inception through trial Draft, review, and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and subpoenas Manage case files, maintain litigation calendars, and track critical deadlines Coordinate depositions, mediations, and court appearances Conduct legal and factual research to support litigation strategy Investigate claims, gather records, and assist in case development and settlement preparation Communicate with clients, experts, opposing counsel, and court personnel Ensure compliance with New York court rules, deadlines, and filing requirements (including e-filing) Organize exhibits, trial binders, and other materials for hearings and trials Qualifications Minimum of 2+ years of experience in NY Personal Injury Law Strong knowledge of New York litigation procedures and court rules Experience with New York e-filing systems (e.g., NYSCEF) preferred Paralegal degree or certification preferred Proficiency in legal research and case management software Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time management skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and able to work effectively in a team environment Benefits Medical, Dental, and Vision (eligible on the 1st of the month following 60 days of service) 401(k) with company match Long-term disability, short-term disability, and life insurance options Work-from-home flexibility: 1 day per week after 1 year of service + 3 additional flex WFH days annually 3 weeks of paid time off + 7 days of sick time Paid holidays and floating holidays Employee discounts with major retailers and hotels Aflac supplemental insurance options
