In this multifaceted role, you will provide essential support across a broad spectrum of legal areas, including water law, civil litigation, public entity advising, real property law, and more. Your organizational skills and legal expertise will ensure the smooth operation of our law office while assisting the attorney with case management, legal research, document review, and administrative functions. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive professional eager to contribute to a thriving small legal practice while gaining diverse experience in multiple legal disciplines. Responsibilities Manage legal case files using MyCase, OneDrive, and DropBox ensuring accurate filing, data entry, and retrieval of documents Conduct comprehensive legal research to support case preparation across various practice areas including litigation, water law, and general counsel type issues as they arise Assist the attorney with drafting legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, memoranda, and correspondence with precision and clarity Review and analyze legal documents for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with applicable New Mexico laws and regulations Support project management tasks by coordinating deadlines, scheduling meetings, and maintaining organized workflows for multiple cases Perform administrative duties including phone and email etiquette, scheduling appointments, managing client communications, proofreading documents, and supporting executive administrative functions Facilitate client interviews and gather pertinent information to assist in case development Requirements Proven paralegal experience with familiarity in litigation, particularly administrative and civil litigation, and transactional matters pertaining to real property multiple Strong research skills for effective case support Proficiency in legal case management software including MyCase Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft clear legal documents and proofread meticulously Experience with document review and analysis for litigation and transactional work Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of water law, real property law, public entity law, administrative law, and New Mexico civil procedure is highly desirable Administrative experience supporting a busy law office including data entry, filing systems, clerical tasks and phone etiquette Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment Join us if you're passionate about delivering exceptional legal support across diverse practice areas!
