The Opportunity We are seeking a Paralegal to join the Litigation Department of our Firm. This position will be based in our Wilmington office (hybrid). The Paralegal supports litigation attorneys and business services professionals by handling complex tasks and projects across all phases of litigation with limited supervision. We are looking for a motivated individual eager to build a long-term career as a paralegal, bringing strong communication and organizational skills, a proactive approach to case management, and keen attention to detail. Provides support throughout all phases of litigation with a focus on preparing court filings, assisting with the discovery process and supporting trial preparation tasks.
Maintains the integrity of client files.
Maintains knowledge of up-to-date practices regarding Delaware state, Federal and Chancery Court rules and procedures.
Files court documents electronically via File & ServeXpress and PACER CM/ECF, serves discovery requests and responses, subpoenas and commission papers.
Assists with the preparation and court filing of pleadings and other court papers.
Cite checks, pulls cases, shepardizes and proofreads briefs, memoranda of law, opinions and other documents.
Leverages litigation support databases to manage case data, perform searches and generate reports for attorneys and clients.
Coordinates with legal technology and supports attorneys with all aspects of eDiscovery workflows, including assisting with tracking client data collection activities, preparing and tracking document productions and drafting privilege logs.
Utilizes litigation support database (e.g., Relativity) to organize, search, and analyze large volumes of electronic data.
Assists with preparation of document productions.
Organizes and prepares documents for attorney review including key documents, chronologies, court papers and exhibits, cases cited and other document sets as requested.
Assists with retrieval of court and judge rules and regulations, as needed.
Assists with preparation for interviews, depositions, hearings and trials.
Performs non-legal research using various research tools, including the Internet, Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER and other court-related websites for case law, statutes, articles, books, etc.
Coordinates with case teams of attorneys and paralegals to proactively track upcoming deadlines and anticipate case team needs.
Handles complex projects with limited supervision.
Ensures that all case files are maintained with department-approved protocols and case management systems and seeks to improve workflows regarding storage and recall of electronic and paper files.
Manages databases in accordance with Firm standards.
Mentors and trains junior paralegals on best practices and effective use of technology.
Demonstrates effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective work relationships with others.
Manages Firm resources responsibly.
Regular and reliable physical presence.
Complies with and understands Firm operation, policies and procedures.
Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Ability to fluently navigate various electronic databases and document management systems
Advanced knowledge of Excel
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to facilitate effective working relationships with attorneys, clients and business services professionals
Strong research skills and proficiency in using various research tools, including the Internet, Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER and other court-related websites
Knowledge of relevant Firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), with the ability to learn new software and operating systems
Ability to assume progressive responsibilities within assigned work as experience is gained in the position
Ability to work well under pressure
Ability to work well in a demanding and fast-paced environment
Ability to work well independently, as well as effectively, within a team
Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality
Ability to organize and prioritize work
Ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities

Actual salary will be determined based on skills, experience (to the extent relevant) and other-job related factors, consistent with applicable law.
