Is a mid-size law firm specializing in workers' compensation defense as well as having a strong civil litigation team defending all forms of insurance litigation, including construction, premises liability, auto liability, wrongful death, and personal injury.
Position Classification:
Full-time Firm Business Hours:
8:00 am to 4:30 pm
Responsibilities:
Responding to discovery requests, such as interrogatories and demands Requesting of IME records, including tracking and follow up. Review, analysis, and drafting of medical records summaries. Preparation, review, and organization of hearing and trial exhibits. Medical bill fee-scheduling. Calculation of AWW (Average Weekly Wage) and TPD (Temporary Partial Disability). Negotiations with and follow up of interveners via phone, email and mail. Preparation of deposition summaries. Review and analysis of file materials in preparation for assignments. Preparing Documents for Disclosure, including, but not limited to, Bates labeling and creation of privilege logs.
Billable Hours Requirement:
1,440 billable hours per year; monthly average of 120 hours per month.
Qualifications and Education:
College degree with emphasis on law emphasis or a paralegal certificate. 3 plus years of paralegal experience. Familiarity with Workers Compensation processes, procedures and case work. Experience in the user of MS Office, Outlook, and PerfectLaw software.
Training:
Ability to attend seminars/training sessions when needed.
