  • Part-time, Full-time Paralegal/Legal Assistant Helgesen, Houtz & Jones are looking for a paralegal/legal assistant to assist in various fields including family law, criminal law, and juvenile law.
We are a well-established, family-oriented law firm. We have been around since 1982 and have a great reputation in the legal community. Our practices have been very successful with the dedication of our team. We work with clients who have many different needs, therefore, we need someone familiar with the legal process to help provide better service to those clients. The perfect candidate for us would be someone with prior legal and/or litigation experience. Someone familiar with Utah law, efiling, and case management. The candidate will need to be willing to work with multiple attorneys and be able to work in between practice areas, with a primary focus on criminal law and juvenile courts. Because we understand the importance of work-life balance, this position is flexible. We are open to a hybrid working environment after an initial probation period. Hours of work will be dependent on the needs of the firm and the candidate. This position is available immediately.
Responsibilities:
Client intakes Drafting pleadings, motions, demands, and other documents as needed Effective communication with the clients and courts Scheduling mediations, depositions, court hearings, and other matters as needed Case management Obtaining and managing a large volume of documents Other responsibilities as directed by the attorney to help move each case forward
Qualifications:
Prior legal and/or litigation experience is a must Legal or case management education is preferred Positive, professional attitude Organized Detail-oriented Excellent writing skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively Self-starter Flexible Eager to learn, grow, and be a crucial part of the team
