Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting attorneys across a wide range of practice areas, including estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, and more. Your proactive approach and strong organizational skills will ensure the smooth operation of our law office by managing legal documents, conducting research, and providing exceptional administrative support. Responsibilities Assist with legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal databases to support case preparation and strategy. Manage legal case files and document management systems such as iManage and PCLaw, ensuring accurate filing, data entry, and document review. Draft, proofread, and edit legal documents including contracts, pleadings, memos, and correspondence with precision and clarity. Support attorneys with project management tasks related to litigation, estate planning, tribal law & regulations, patent law, and other practice areas. Conduct interviews with clients or witnesses as part of the case development process while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. Organize and coordinate meetings, court filings, and deadlines to ensure timely compliance with legal procedures. Perform administrative duties such as answering phones with professional etiquette, managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and handling clerical tasks like filing and data entry. Qualifications Paralegal experience or prior legal administrative experience is required; familiarity with a variety of practice areas such as workers' compensation law, personal injury law, landlord-tenant law, immigration law, or securities law is highly valued. Strong research skills with proficiency in Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools. Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence; keen proofreading abilities are essential. Experience with document review and case management systems like iManage or PCLaw to streamline workflows. Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of legal procedures related to litigation, contracts, UCC law (Uniform Commercial Code), patent law, or tribal regulations is a plus. Effective communication skills combined with professional phone etiquette; ability to interview clients or witnesses effectively. Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) along with familiarity with document management systems and data entry processes.
