This position plays a vital role in supporting our paralegals by ensuring cases move efficiently from intake through treatment. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to providing outstanding client service. Position Summary The Legal Assistant will work alongside a designated paralegal to manage case setup and ongoing case development. Responsibilities include filing insurance claims, preparing and sending Letters of Representation (LORs), requesting medical records and bills, communicating with insurance companies and medical providers, and ensuring all case documentation is accurate and up to date. Responsibilities
  • Prepare and send Letters of Representation (LORs) to insurance companies and medical providers.
  • File first-party and third-party insurance claims.
  • Request medical records and itemized medical bills from providers.
  • Follow up with providers and insurance companies to obtain outstanding records, bills, and claim information.
  • Order police reports and other supporting case documents.
  • Upload records, bills, and correspondence into the firm's case management system.
  • Maintain accurate case notes and document all communications.
  • Assist the assigned paralegal with case management and administrative tasks.
  • Monitor outstanding requests and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, medical providers, and insurance adjusters.
  • Help keep cases organized and moving efficiently through the pre-litigation process. Qualifications
  • Previous personal injury legal assistant experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of insurance claims, Letters of Representation, and medical records requests is highly preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with SmartAdvocate or other case management software is a plus.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, and team members. What We Offer
