Job Description

Description Position Summary:
As a member of the Legal team, you will join an incredibly talented and hardworking team dedicated to managing legal affairs, contracting and procurement in support of BakerRipley operations. The Legal Assistant position will be responsible for supporting the Legal team in processing contracts, UCC Liens, Subpoenas, public information act requests and other legal documents. The ideal candidate should be detail oriented, organized, responsible, accustomed to handling confidential information and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Key responsibilities:
Support the prompt execution of contracts and other legal documents Use discretion in handling confidential and personal information • Ensure prompt and thorough responses to external requests and UCC lien inquiries Track and ensure compliance with applicable deadlines Review and organize large quantities of documents Communicate professionally in writing and verbally with internal and external parties Handle sensitive employee data, legal strategies, and privileged/confidential information with the utmost discretion Assist in maintenance of contract database by ensuring required documentation is properly stored and organized Balance a variety of competing tasks and deadlines and transition between tasks as needed o Update contract templates with guidance from attorney staff and ensure consistency across template library Assist legal, contract and procurement team members as needed with proofreading, formatting and submitting legal and procurement documents Draft and proofread formal legal correspondence Other tasks as assigned Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION
High School Diploma
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
: 2+ years experience in a legal setting
CERTIFICATION S, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Paralegal certificate preferred and eligibility for a notary license strongly preferred
COMPUTER/ SYSTEMS/ SOFTWARE PROFICIENCY
: Microsoft Word, Outlook , OneDrive/Sharepoint, Teams, Adobe and Excel proficiency required.
