/ Small Personal Injury Law Firm About the Job Our small but busy personal injury law firm in Sugar Land is looking for a Litigation Assistant to join our team. You will work directly with one of the firm's partners to manage a docket of personal injury cases. Each partner has two assistants that perform different tasks and responsibilities. Most cases are pending in Fort Bend, Harris, and surrounding counties .

Key Responsibilities Calendar litigation deadlines, hearings, and trial settings Track statutes of limitations and ensure timely filings Ensure compliance with local rules and filing requirements Schedule depositions, mediations, hearings and client appointments Draft and file petitions, motions, discovery requests, and discovery responses Communicate with court staff and process servers regarding service of process Prepare settlement documents, closing statements, and release paperwork Communicate with clients, witnesses, experts, opposing counsel, and court staff Issue firm checks for case expenses and client settlements Prepare billing records and affidavits for court filings Maintain organized case files and assist with trial preparation Qualifications Minimum 3 years of civil litigation experience (personal injury preferred) Knowledge of relevant Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and local court rules Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Adobe, and eFiling Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills Assertive and has ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines efficiently Experience with case management software (Cloudlex, Needles, Filevine, or similar) preferred Schedule Monday to Friday 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM In-office position Compensation Competitive salary , commensurate with experience Paid holidays and vacation Supportive and professional work environment Flexible schedule and paid vacation time Work Location In person at our Sugar Land, TX office
