PM Compensation:
Starting at $20/hour, depending on experience About the Role We are a busy personal injury law firm seeking a Legal Assistant•Lien Specialist to join our team. This role is focused on managing the financial side of client cases—making sure medical bills, liens, and insurance claims are properly handled, finalized, and documented at the time of settlement. You'll be the "numbers person" for our clients, helping to ensure their bills are submitted and processed and that all figures are accurate. Key Responsibilities Coordinate with health insurance providers, Medicare, and Medicaid regarding subrogation claims Obtain up-to-date balances from medical providers and lien holders Track and follow up on liens throughout the case lifecycle Work with providers and lien holders to negotiate balance reductions when appropriate Ensure PIP coverage is properly exhausted Finalize disbursements on settled cases, ensuring accuracy in payments Assist with closing files, dropping claims, and archiving cases after resolution Maintain organized, accurate records of all financial and lien-related activities Qualifications Strong communication skills and a professional, client-friendly phone presence Comfortable on the phones and task oriented Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks at once Comfortable working in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat Pro Experience with case management software (Casepeer or Filevine preferred) Spanish-speaking ability is a plus, but not required Prior law firm or personal injury experience is helpful, but not required What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is proactive, reliable, and comfortable working directly with providers, lien holders, and clients to resolve financial issues. You should enjoy problem-solving, be highly organized, and have the confidence to take ownership of case financials from start to finish.
