Job Description
Job Summary:
We are a fast-paced and client-focused personal injury law firm seeking a skilled and motivated Legal Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting attorneys with personal injury matters and will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment. As a Legal Assistant, you will play a key role in the client experience, case preparation, and overall efficiency of our pre-litigation teams. Feller & Wendt is a mid-size Plaintiff's Injury Law Firm and has become a leader in personal injury law with offices in Utah, Idaho and Arizona. Feller & Wendt handles the following types of cases: car crashes, tractor trailer crashes, catastrophic injury, wrongful death, premises liability, inadequate security, sexual molestation, traumatic brain injuries, facility abuse and neglect, and medical malpractice. Our attorneys have been recognized by Super Lawyers and serve as faculty for a national trial institute where they've taught hundreds of lawyers how to try cases. Additionally, our team has presented across the nation on legal topics such as Cross Examination, Focus Groups, Black Letter Law, Voir Dire, Direct Examination, Opening Statements, and Closing Arguments. Applicants will be considered if they can communicate and work effectively with attorneys and support staff; the ability to establish effective working relationships with clients and keep them informed at all times of case status; the ability to manage deadlines; excellent writing skills; and attention to detail. Spanish speaking abilities are also preferred but are not necessary.Key Responsibilities:
Documentation Management:
Collect and verify all necessary client documents, including identification, contracts, and case-related materials. Ensure all documents are properly filed and stored in compliance with firm policies and legal regulations.Client Communication:
Serve as the initial point of contact for new clients, providing them with necessary information and answering preliminary questions. Schedule initial consultations and follow-up appointments as needed.Collaboration:
Work closely with Attorneys, Case Managers, and other Legal Assistants to ensure all case information is complete and accurate. Coordinate with other departments to facilitate the smooth transition of cases through various stages.Quality Assurance:
Review case files for completeness and accuracy, addressing any discrepancies promptly. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legal procedures and firm policies to ensure compliance.Ideal Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Legal Studies, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a legal administrative role or similar position. Proficiency in legal case management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality. Excellent Customer Service skill.Working Conditions:
Standard office environment with occasional need for extended hours during peak periods. Regular use of office equipment, including computers, telephones, and scanners.Pay:
