ABOUT THE JOB
LEGAL
ASSISTANT
: Sole practitioner in Salt Lake City is looking for an experienced legal assistant with a minimum of 3-5 years of litigation experience to support him in his civil trial litigation practice. The candidate must be able to transcribe from dictation, must have strong organizational and time management skills, must pay careful attention to detail, and must be a self-starter with a strong work ethic. The legal assistant will support a seasoned practitioner with calendaring/docketing, e-filings, maintaining electronic and hard copy files and general office administration.
Required Skills and Competencies:
  • Dictaphone transcription.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (i.e., Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), and PDF software.
  • 3-5 years' experience in a law firm, demonstrated knowledge of the litigation process.
  • E-filing in both State and Federal Court.
  • Manage the office on a day-to-day basis.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, including screening telephone calls.
  • Able to communicate with clients professionally.
  • Able to work independently. Self-driven with a desire to learn and improve continuously.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, possess excellent time management and organizational skills and able to produce high quality work.
  • Able to adapt and prioritize responsibilities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent and consistent attention to detail.
