Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. Northrop Grumman is seeking a Paralegal for an exciting opportunity to join our Defense Systems (DS) Sector. The position will be filled with either a Paralegal Level 3 or 4 , the requirements for which are listed below. The Paralegal will report to a Corporate Legal Director within Defense Systems Sector and primarily support 2-3 attorneys in the Weapons Systems division, as well as occasional assignments for other DS Divisions or at the Sector or corporate level.
Location :
Northrop Grumman's McLean, Virginia or Linthicum, Maryland locations are preferred. Specifically, this position supports a broad range of duties and responsibilities in the rapidly growing defense market involving both Government and commercial customers.

Roles and responsibilities of the Paralegal will include (but not be limited to) the following: Interfacing with various levels of management, other paralegals, employees, lawyers, and outside parties. Conducting legal research. Supporting negotiation of NDAs and contract terms and conditions on both the buy (supply chain organization) and sell (contracts organization) side. Identifying and supporting process improvements in corporate and sector policies and procedures. Drafting letters. Preparing training materials, briefings and guidance documents. Preparing and managing firewall documents and training. Navigating legal and corporate systems, tools, and databases. Document collection in response to third party subpoenas
Basic Qualifications:
This requisition may be filled at either a level 3 or a level 4. Basic Qualifications for a Level 3: High School Diploma with a minimum of 4 years' experience as a paralegal or in a legal related position in a law firm or corporate environment. College degree preferred. Basic Qualifications for a Level 4: High School Diploma with a minimum of 6 years' experience as a paralegal or in a legal related position in a law firm or corporate environment. College degree preferred. Additional Basic qualifications for both levels: Computer skills required include advanced expertise in Microsoft Office software (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel), SharePoint (or equivalent), and intranet/internet proficiency. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adaptable to changes in processes. Ability to balance multiple, competing priorities, individuals and geographies. Quality writing ability with attention to detail and solid grammar and proofreading skills. Demonstrated oral communication skills with an ability to interact effectively across a large complex organization and with outside individuals. Ability to execute tasks and projects independently. Demonstrated ability to build and foster effective, collaborative relationships with others. US citizenship.
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with a combination of these desired skills will be given preferential consideration: Bachelor's degree. Paralegal certificate or studies. Experience working in the law department of an aerospace and defense company, federal government contractor, other large companies, and/or law firm experience. Experience conducting on-line legal research, e.g., researching statutes, regulations, case law, government reports, etc. Experience using complex electronic databases, budget analysis and billing systems. Experience with preparing documents in response to subpoenas.
Primary Level Salary Range:
$69,300.00
  • $115,500.
00
Secondary Level Salary Range:
$82,300.00
  • $137,100.
00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
