Job Description ProspectBlue has partnered with a Personal Injury Law Firm in Richmond, VA and is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal to join the legal team. The ideal candidate will assist attorneys in all aspects of personal injury law, including client communication, case management, and trial preparation. This role requires a strong understanding of the litigation process and a proactive approach to case development and file management.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage personal injury case files from intake through settlement or trial Draft and file legal documents such as complaints, discovery requests, motions, and settlement agreements Communicate with clients, insurance companies, medical providers, and opposing counsel Request, review, and summarize medical records and bills Calculate damages, including medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering Maintain and update case management system and legal calendars Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including preparing exhibits, subpoenas, and witness lists Coordinate depositions, mediations, and IMEs (Independent Medical Examinations) Ensure compliance with deadlines and court requirements
Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal Certificate preferred Minimum of 2+ years' experience in personal injury law Strong knowledge of legal terminology, principles, and procedures Proficiency in case management software Excellent organizational, writing, and communication skills Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
