This position provides legal support to the Superior Court Criminal Division by preparing standard legal documents and performing routine clerical tasks. Works collaboratively with law enforcement, the public, and other County staff in a legal office setting.Key Responsibilities:
Provides administrative and clerical support to Superior Court Criminal Deputy Prosecuting Attorneys and the Prosecuting Attorney, including management of felony and juvenile case files Prepares, proofreads, and files legal documents in compliance with court requirements and deadlines Assists with trial preparation, including exhibits and discovery management Maintains and organizes legal records and filing systems Enters, retrieves, and verifies data in case management systems Handles file scanning, archiving, and special projects as assignedKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Understanding of legal terminology, procedures, court rules, and legal documents. Strong document preparation, proofreading, and editing skills. Ability to type at least 60 wpm, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines. Proficiency with office software and standard office equipment. Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. Ability to handle confidential information and work professionally under pressure.Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required, with strong English reading, writing, and verbal communication skills Bachelor's degree or completion of an accredited legal secretarial or related program preferred Minimum of two years of experience in a legal support role (e.g., legal assistant, paralegal, or legal secretary), or equivalent education and experience demonstrating ability to perform essential duties Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent residentBehavioral Standards:
