Job Description

Please review the full position description for additional information. Description Provide first level clerical support in the Prosecutor's Office. Responsible for a wide variety of routine office tasks including general reception, data entry, typing, filing, mail handling, and record keeping. Essential Functions (Any one position may not include all the duties listed nor do the listed examples include all tasks which may be found in positions of this class.) Provide general office and clerical support to office staff. Answer phones, greet visitors, give general information, take messages, and make appointments. Navigate and update case management system. Generate memos, letters, or other basic documents. Perform a wide variety of clerical tasks such as filing, maintain the filing system, utilizing general office equipment. Assist with archiving and record retention. Prepare appropriate correspondence and documentation. Deliver and retrieve documents and mail to other County Buildings daily. Distribute inter-departmental mail. Regular, reliable, and punctual attendance. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge of:
Business English, spelling, punctuation, grammar. Criminal justice system.
Skill in:
Microsoft Suite Interpersonal and customer service skills. Attention to detail and accuracy.
Customer service Ability to:
Operate standard office equipment. Communicate effectively orally and in writing. Utilize Microsoft Suite. Accurately maintain records. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders. Work effectively under pressure. Effectively deal with individuals who are under emotional stress and/or hostile. Maintain appropriate confidentiality.
OTHER JOB DUTIES
May be required to obtain additional education as required to conduct business functions. Minimum Qualifications (Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the job may be considered.) High school diploma, or G.E.D. Ability to pass a criminal background check.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
A valid Washington State driver's license and acceptable driving record.
