Job Summary Reporting to the Parking Operations Manager, working collaboratively with other members of the campus community, the Parking Officer II provides lead work direction and performs duties related to the planning and coordination of the parking program such as parking and safety coordination for special events and parking information programs. Contacts involve working with a wide variety of people at all levels on the campus and the general public. Key Qualifications This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and one year of related experience. Experience serving a Parking Officer I for a minimum of two years preferred. Intermediate proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) required. Knowledge of Google Suite and PeopleSoft preferred. Knowledge of and/or the ability to learn how to use applicable parking-related equipment and automated systems is essential. The incumbent must successfully complete a pre-placement exam and must possess and/or obtain and tafter maintain a California Driver's License valid for the operation of any vehicle or equipment required to maintain and operate. Salary and Benefits This is a full time, non-exempt position, which will lead toward permanent status following the successful completion of a probationary period. The CSU Classification Step Range for this position is $3,703 - $5,395 per month (step 1 - step 18). Step placement will be determined based on relevant qualifications and professional experience. Step placement upon appointment is not expected to exceed Step 3 ($3,853 a month). This position is eligible for a broad range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances, retirement (CalPERS), tuition waiver, vacation and sick leave. In addition, 15 paid holidays are offered each year. Sonoma State University is also a Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF) Employer.
